Inspired by yesterday’s talk on the NM list, here’s an oscilloscope/wavetable performance based on a 128 step sequencer.

In scope mode (slot A), you can hear both the scanning carrier frequency and sample modulation frequency. This lets you sync the display by audibly tuning the beats. I’m now not sure if I need separate logic to multiplex the record clock signal, but I left it in anyway. Record logic is the green cables, play logic is the orange cables.

Not quite so interesting in wavetable mode (Slot B) but it’s a bit of fun. I couldn’t coax anything like a decent sampled sound out of it, really.

Cheers, Robin

/edit: to make it clear for non-G2-owners, the oscilloscope mode really does display a real-time scan of the input wave, which is remarkably flicker-free if you sync it accurately. The sequencers "screens" should be read as a row of eight in a ring (not a stereo pair of fours). That makes more sense when you see a single cycle-wave wave like the one in variation 7.
