Merriam-Webster wrote:
Lullaby:
Etymology: obsolete English lulla, interjection used to lull a child (from Middle English) + bye, interj. used to lull a child, from Middle English by
: a soothing refrain; specifically : a song to quiet children or lull them to sleep

This song started as a piano piece but then I tried other sounds until I found that VL harmonica that I modulated with breath controller, pitch bend and modulation wheel.

The first idea was to build a song from harmonically distant sections.
Once assembled it became a study on "virtual expressiveness"
Hope you like it Very Happy
imho it doesn't sound like IDM to me Shocked

arrow Listen to Lullaby

it's interesting that the reprise of the theme is on a different tonality than the original one

A wonderful little tune. I like that harmonica sound. Very expressive.

you are right, it starts in Db lydian and ends in F major going places in between

no, the harmonica part was extracted from the piano track, later on I recorded a breath controller track and then another one with pitch bend and modulation wheel to make it more wind-like sounding Very Happy

A nice piece, Carlo. Lullaby is a good name. It made me sleepy, but it was always interesting. I like the harmonica sound a lot too, but I'd like to hear this with a human violin and a human pianist. It's very beautiful...

thumb up well done too much coffee love sleeping sleeping sleeping sleeping sleeping sleeping sleeping sleeping sleeping

very smooth tones, less raspy like in blues

Nice... your stuff often reminds me of my Morricone... Why don't you record the piano part on your real piano... the harmonica sounds pretty cool.
