I feel pretty dumb for asking this but, I've been using a Presonus Firepod with Cubase SX3, but I cannot figure out to get this thing to record in stereo. It works fine for recording mono with the first preamp. When I have input coming into one of the other preamps, sound plays through the monitors, however when recording nothing will be recorded. I'm not sure if my settings are wrong or if the firepod is defective (I bought it used). Previously I was using a Tascam US-122 and never had a problem recording in stereo. If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated!

Stereo Channels are built by combining two mono inputs.

Start a new Cubase file.

Create an audio track. Choose the Stereo option in the pop up window.

Then look at the basic tab for the audio track you created. Find the Input dropdown box.

It should say something like "Presonus Stereo Input."

Now, to figure out what this means, go to your VST Connections window. (found buried in one of the last dropdown menus, i.e. over near "help").

Select Input. You'll see that same "Presonus Stereo Input" in the left column. In the right column it tells you what inputs on your firepod are being used for the stereo channel. By default, hopefully its the first two inputs.

You can either plug into those two, or customize the "presonus stereo input" to be whatever inputs on the firepod you want.

hope that helps a little.
