Hi everybody,

I am a Micro Modular owner.
I use a Macbook with 10.4.11 and a 1x1 in/out Emu midi interface.

I've just discovered the Nomad editor v.1 but I have some difficulties to use it with my Micro.
Nomad recognizes my midi interface but I can't communicate with the Micro.
Also I have tried with Plumstone but it doesn't work.
In the Settings "Properties for Nord Modular" all the parameters are inaccessible (there are all greyed and I can't make any selection)

So, I come to the conclusion that maybe I need a 2x2 midi interface to connect the two other ports.

I always use my Micro with the Clavia editor and only the 2 PC midi port with a 1x1 in/out midi interface and it works very well.

I would really use the Nomad editor with his beautiful graphic interface and his random fonction.

Someone could help me to find the solution and make work this software ?

Thanks you, really.

Cheers, Damien_

For just patch editing you would not need a 2x2 interface. But it could be that another interface than you current one would work better, hard to tell for me though which ones would.

You have understand. I just want to edit the patches.

It seems that my interface works very well because it recogized by the Nomad editor.

So where should be the problem ?

The problem would be in Nomad, but the Clavia NM editor had some problems as well at times with different OS'es and/or different MIDI interfaces, the protocol used by Clavia might be less than ideal ... The MIDI interface recognition is one thing, working properly is another. I can't really help you to solve the practical problem you have. Maybe some other Mac user could tell what works for him.

Well, i am a windows user, but some ideas.

you say your using v.1 of the editor.
make sure the micro is up to date (v3.03) and try the latest version of the editor from clavia website, if thats doesnt work, it might worth trying the beta version (also on their site).
http://www.clavia.se/main.asp?tm=Downloads&cldwn=Nord_Micro_Modular&osdwn=osx

if that doesnt work, maybe try a different midi interface.
after some investigating, i decided to go for m-audio midisport 2x2 (i also use it with cubase so i needed 2in 2out). but theres a 1x1 version, maybe you can pick one up to try before you buy.

Stomper.
