I'm trying to mix ruori's recordings of our set from EM08 yesterday. I have a leetle bit experience with Cakewalk but I don't have access to that right now, and since I have Logic but haven't really cracked the spine yet I figured I'd use this as an excuse to break it in and get to know it.

So does anyone have experience using Logic Pro for mixing tracks and such? I don't know the first thing about it, and the tremendous number of features is kind of overwhelming. Some guidance would be greatly appreciated.

You should find the box and the manual. You really need to read the manual. Next best thing is opening one of the sample projects and see how a populated mix setup looks like.

The manual is longer than War and Peace! Where do I start? Just kidding. I don't know why it never occurs to me to look in the manual until someone tells me to. Embarassed

Yeah.. sure.. even longer than the unabridged 3 volume edition..
But the good news is that the complete Lensman series is longer.. so .. the Logic Studio 8 manuals would be not be much of a problem for the average nerd. Very Happy

Just a thought - if Logic looks too mad and busy, have you thought of doing the mixing in Garageband?

On the other hand, it's always fun to jump into a new, bewildering app! I'm currently switching from Logic to DP6 so I know how you feel. Very Happy

Or but this http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Pro-Training-Logic-Express/dp/0321502922/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1219227235&sr=8-1

Will tell you everything you need to know, there is also a version 7 one if you are using that.

Highly recommended.
