Logic Pro for mixing? |
|
|
I'm trying to mix ruori's recordings of our set from EM08 yesterday. I have a leetle bit experience with Cakewalk but I don't have access to that right now, and since I have Logic but haven't really cracked the spine yet I figured I'd use this as an excuse to break it in and get to know it.
So does anyone have experience using Logic Pro for mixing tracks and such? I don't know the first thing about it, and the tremendous number of features is kind of overwhelming. Some guidance would be greatly appreciated. _________________ solo: http://www.myspace.com/skippyvodka

You should find the box and the manual. You really need to read the manual. Next best thing is opening one of the sample projects and see how a populated mix setup looks like. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

The manual is longer than War and Peace! Where do I start? Just kidding. I don't know why it never occurs to me to look in the manual until someone tells me to. _________________ solo: http://www.myspace.com/skippyvodka

Yeah.. sure.. even longer than the unabridged 3 volume edition..
But the good news is that the complete Lensman series is longer.. so .. the Logic Studio 8 manuals would be not be much of a problem for the average nerd.

Just a thought - if Logic looks too mad and busy, have you thought of doing the mixing in Garageband?
On the other hand, it's always fun to jump into a new, bewildering app! I'm currently switching from Logic to DP6 so I know how you feel. _________________ My music: here! |
