Korg synthesizer audio inputs |
|
|
It seems that Korg has always been the one to make a synthesizer and put a special audio in jack in it. Whether being for a vocoder or just to give and audio thru function.
The point is, its really awesome.
I have a Microkorg. Since it has a vocoder, it has MIC IN and LINE IN inputs. It also has a AUDIO IN THRU function. So far I like to use the thru for my other synthesizer to go into. It saves space and is very helpful live. (Actually, I only use that system live.)
Another thing it has is the ability to sent the audio into the synthesizers system (Filters, effects, maybe even the oscillators, ect.) Which means being able to manipulate and tweak with the sound going in.
Man, this is an awesome feature. Its like analog effect running audio through a synthesizer. I know that Korg's MS-10 also had this feature. Now, electronic artists everywhere are using old MS-10s to run audio through and control the sound, instead of using a more traditional effect processor.
Anyone else like this idea of effect? Does anyone like to work with audio running through synths and being able to "synthesize" the sound? _________________ Synthesizer. |

Oh yes, I have been doing that for years, or decades rather. I wouldn´t call this one specific effect, it all depends on which gear you are using and what you want to do. As for the MS synths, these are absolutely fab but still rather limited. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I dunno if this belongs in the Composition forum though. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I guess this is not off-topic, because having available a certain audio or control source in a multiple way in a composition is essential.
It shouldn't be cut off, because some jack is inserted for a certain purpose, so that's it, hardware like.
Thru functions are very useful to avoid this. _________________ 0.618033988 |
