is this one related to the P90 that Seraph is showcasing right now in his latest piece in Online Music?

As I recall the P90 has a better piano and limited selection of voices compared to the S90. The keyboard on the S90 has a touch that I love, never felt grand that had such responsiveness and well regulated action.

The S90's action is not graduated however, a feature that I like because I am not a trained pianist. The P90 may have I don't know. Maybe Carlo will check in and tell us.

If he does I'll have to pay him another huge compliment on the phrasing and expressiveness he accomplishes, this time on Lonesome--though I gota say the constant beat doesn't work for me--and it's not your piece Carlo. There is just something about that compositional technique that doesn't ring my bells. But if I lived in your town I'd want to take some lessons from you.

Are you talking about the "touch" button that regulates the feel of the keyboard (hard, medium, soft)?

I understand so I listened to it again. The idea was to juxtapose an obsessive bass pedal with, alternatively, "light and gay" and "pensive and obsure" phrases and instruments.

OK, I just listened to it again and I have an even stronger reaction. (The %*&^%*^ air conditioner wasn’t running in the background this time). Interesting, my first response to the second listing was the same as before then suddenly I recognized that it was the bass lines utter refusal to acknowledge the melody that contributed to the loneliness. Still—it’s maddening that the line never got a home. Very disturbing to me…. And I have to say “Bravo!” in one breathe and beg you to do a second piece with that same melody and voice where it gets a response and home. Please.

Carlo, that line is achingly beautiful, and I have not used that phrase often in my life.

Edit:

Or it may be that the bass is just not up to being in the same place as that line?

I'll think about it, it's a challenge, in the meantime thanks a lot Very Happy

No the S90 has no dedicated "touch' button. The velocity response can be controlled but one must access the parameters through a menu.

And by touch I mean both the mechanical response of the action to the fingers and the correlation of that to the velocity response.

I'd like to report that I've had no problems since implementing the recommended changes--but I won't for fear that saying it out loud will bring it back. Rolling Eyes But many many thanks in any case. Very Happy
