Everything is returned now to the original design, and I simply used a few old resistor legs to re-track the circuit, and all is back as it was. It's certainly a great module. _________________ LektroiD |

Oooooh sh***
Golden lemon for me: I have my 3100 unbuilt and there´s a rerun on the way. Badbadbadbad...
I´m going to finish the RingMod these days, if that counts. _________________ --

Again, I seem to have missed the boat.
If there's a spare 3100 board going, please add me to the list. _________________ LektroiD |

Hi Fonik,
one question on the bom :
IC1 + IC2 are LM1458N. Does an MC1458 work? Checked the datasheets and it seems to be ok. Can you confirm this?
Thanks and best regards

Very satisfying! About as close as I've gotten to something working on the first build. Sounds excellent without even touching any trimmers yet. Thanks Matthias for an easy build! |

Hi, so dumb question maybe, but what do people generally prefer for the PS3100 trimmer settings? I can see the advantage of giving a range of settings, but my instinct is to set them the same, to where the CCW pot setting is just sub-audio. That's nice for starting each at zero and raising one at a time, but obviously once you start dealing with the LFO the ranges respond differently.
By the way, a day after my first build that more or less worked the first time, I enjoyed my first experience with the magic smoke. My fault entirely, but I fried my 1458s by stupidly reversing the polarity of the power connector. This is the third time I've done that (first time for magic smoke though... insert your favorite Magic Smoke late-delivery joke here) and it's a habit I really have to break. But hey, at least 1458s are something I had replacements for at my workbench, and not unobtanium. Everything's back up and running great now....
[ETA: reference to PS3100, not xpan...] |

So nobody has a particular opinion on trimmer settings? Not even what the original PS3100 settings are supposed to be?
I know it's supposed to be "to taste", I just was hoping for a starting point from people who have used this for a while. |

Fonik,
I'm not one of those that expressed an interest before, but I would be interested in one of each PS3100 + x-pan/fader PCB's. As a latecomer though, I'd obviously give way to someone who has already expressed an interest.
I'm not in a great rush though, so can probably add it to my MIDI 2 Clock PCB order, when that gets sorted.
Regards
