this is for the update chapter history only and as a gift. the other ideas/patches are to much scattered over the rest of the chapters. _________________ Roland Kuit

in SoundLab II, i will write about synthesis from a different angle,
so a realy different tutorial in that perspective. |
So, is SoundLab II going to be a separate product you will sell at a later time? I would be interested in that for the future, too.
Cheers,

Thanx Oli. But have a bit patience. Im doing sound design for a company now, and meanwhile writing an EMS tutorial. I hope to do it in 4/5 months.
oeps, knowing me, it will take longer. Im never finished because then I would stop thinking?

I have a few addons for the chapter Logic.
In the chapter House/Techno II I explained how to make Groove Models with use of LFO modules.
But I was thinking this could be done by using the Logic Delay module too.
So I came up with this:
As last patch example in the chapter Logic/Delay you can add this one.
As you see, the triggering goes through the delay modules. the amount of delay is modulated by the pattern module. The level of this modulation can be fine tuned in the mixer module. The total modulation level is set by the groover module(a constant module). _________________ Roland Kuit

Thank you, guys.
I promished you to update stuff, so here is an other Groover model.
For the chapter Logic, the 8Counter module. In this example every input of this module is filed. This is not nececerry, for different rhrythmic fx, some inputs can be left empty. _________________ Roland Kuit

| hi roland, thanks for the patch, you use a level module to generate some randomness within the random pattern module ?! ... i must reconsider my all work with the g2 ... i print out your tutorial & will get deep into it ... i'm too much like osc-filter-envellope-fx ... i need to explore this synth a lot more |

3 level modules, set on different level are fed into the 4switch module. leaving 1 input open. this is an easy way to give the pattern generator a different static choice. in the chapter House/Techno II however, i explain how to change patterns over time. without lifting a finger:)
the contstant module, called groover in this circuit, expanses the overall
logic delay time, while you can fine tune the pattern generators modulation signal in the mixer. _________________ Roland Kuit

Again a chapter Logic update:
The Shuffler model.
This patch is a Groover model but extended with a Value Switch module. This module measures the incoming control signal to the matching number witch can be set. To create a shuffle, there is the need for a high rate trigger signal.. Instead output 1/16 from the Clock Generator module, the output 1/96 is used. Divided by three in the Clock Divider module. The shuffle is made by the Logic Gate module. At the first input the 1/16 trigger signal from the Clock Generator module and the 1/32 trigger signal from the Value Switch module are coming out only when there is a trigger signal on both inputs, the AND gate. Hereafter the signal goes into the OR gate with on the other input the other (1/32 trigger) signal output from the Value Switch module. _________________ Roland Kuit

| I can't wait to receive my copy of Mr. Kuit's tutorial. I ordered mine a few weeks ago and am patiently waiting for it to make its trip across the Atlantic. One of my goals when I first got my G2X was to master the programming of sequencing parts. I am still bewildered, and hope the tutorial helps me. |

just checked, yours was posted at feb 5, it should arrive any day now. In the chapters House/Techno I and II, you will find step by step sequencer stuff. Even building your own sequencers, crazy sequencers, timings etc.
Combine that with the chapter Logic and you can invent other circuits for years:) _________________ Roland Kuit
