Subject description: Wondering if a patch like this exists...

Hey all,

I've had my g2x for a bit over a year now, and have been hovering on these forums for a wee while without posting.

Just about to venture out on a tour in a few months and basically I'm looking for a reversed reverb to use with my vocals.

I've searched the forums, but couldn't find anything, so I was hoping perhaps someone here knows of a suitable patch, or can suggest a simple way to build it?

All the best,
Mark (www.theenrighthouse.com)

welcome to the forum.

I'm not an expert but this sounds pretty difficult, I will leave it to the experts.......

It might be, but I should clarify that I do not mean that the audio is literally reversed (ie. played backwards), but rather that the envelope is reversed.

For example in logic, using the Space Designer plug in, you can reverse the impulse response. It's a lot like a swell.

Is there a way to run the wet signal of the reverb through an ASDR?

Sure, just use the reverb 100% wet and mix 'by hand' with the (dry) input signal on an additional mixer module.
I haven't tried to patch it ever, but I think it will be difficult since there is no impulse that can be reversed. The G2 has a more traditional verb with a rather fixed reverb tail (lenght is variable, but that is all). Of course, it can be manipulated by external gain sources, but the difficulty will be to capture the input volume envelope and reverse it convincingly in real time.

I wondered if one of Tim's magic samplers could be modified to achieve something like this by reversing a sample of the delay.. course there would be a minimum pre delay that i suspect may need to be quite long...
