Welcome Jan - Very nice to see what you are doing -nice job on the Lunetta! What's the next project?

bruce

Thanks bruce. Next project will be a 4017 sequencer. idea is to make several of those small boxes that can interconnect in a modular way.

I love that video, and your Lunetta. I am aware, however, that there are relatively few kindred spirits. I'm glad we have been able to link up here. Very Happy

That digital noise is fascinating. At one point it sounded like a modulated resonate filter.

Performing on these instruments is an art form in the very earliest stage of development. Lunettas are primo for creating chaotic systems. Smile

Keep these pics coming!!!

great video! Like a drum machine in a tornado!! Very powerfull little machine you have there & very fitting to be inside an old chess set box, I often think of working with the lunetta as a kind of game of strategy, like playing chess aganist the ghost in the machine Cool

Hello,
SO I have been regularly visiting this forum for a few months and have been learning TONS. Its been the most musically/creatively inspiring place for me lately. I have posted a few times in the MFOS-Ray Wilson section of the forum, but never here I don't think. Here is my synth in its current form. Just a module of 6 40106 clocks, all with a selectable hi/lo range and a module with 2x 4094 shift registers (minus the serial outs) more will definitely be coming soon.. and when its done I will post some sort of video i imagine. Its in an old wine box currently, but will have a real case made eventually. Thanks to all those who helped in answering my questions... mainly Bruce, (RF) and Tom, (DGTom)

Thanks..
Dave

Looks good in the wine box, and you have plenty of room to expand. Smile

A wine box is a great choice for a cabinet. The more you drink, the better it sounds. Laughing

(Sorry, that joke is probably older than me.)

Thanks for the comments. I have a few of these boxes that were left over from use in a photo shoot.. Hopefully I can fill up at least 2 of them, which would be something like 15 or 16 modules..!! I have a dual R2R ladder using the LF444 as well as a 4 input mixer using a LF442 both on the breadboard.. as soon as i get more aluminum they will be built. I can't wait to see what all these things can do when they are done being built. I feel the full potential can never be seen just sitting archaically on the BB.

This stuff is SO addictive. I've had two frontplates made to AGAIN find I want more space. Now I just build these little modules on Inventor's E-chuck Lunetta boards that I can try, and worry about the case later.

I wasn't expecting to be building a large modular system when I started this, so now I have to decide on panel size, suitible cabinet etc.

Ah well, later...

This is really cool equipment and music. Thanks for this inspiring thread.

Over the last few years my enthusiasm for the Lunetta approach to electronic music has increased.

I look forward to building my first Lunetta later this year. Currently I'm expanding my modular synth and as I've ordered parts I've ordered extras of everything. Thus, I'm accumulating a nice stock of counters and assorted digital chips.

So many interesting things to do and so little time!

Looks great Dave! Can't wait to hear the sounds you get from it. Share 'em when you got 'em! You are on the verge of Lunetta Nirvana.

Bruce-

yes I am about to reach Nirvana for sure... I tried to post a quick video from my cell phone, but the forum does not accept the format. And as of now I do not have a youtube page to post these types of vids at. soon though. I am leaving for a tour tonight and will be gone until 3/22 so... will get back to it after that!

That could be changed, what file extension do you need?

I've added 3g2 to the list of allowed extensions, will leave it up to you Dave if you want to convert it or not.

NICE...
so this is a basic patch 2 clocks feeding 1 4094 shift register, those outs going to 2 different R2R ladders, those r2r outputs going to 2 VCO's outs to 2 inputs in the mixer...
sorry if the viewing is small.. filmed on my cell phone.
