Subject description: How do I do this?
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

I am planning to breadboard Ken Stone's DC Mixer (http://www.cgs.synth.net/modules/cgs04_mix.html) and use it as a VCO amplifier (http://www.electro-music.com/forum/topic-30606.html).

I would like to also be able to level shift waveforms that are not centered around ground (http://www.electro-music.com/forum/topic-28604-125.html). If I wanted to add an offset control to this circuit as well, would I just need to wire up a pot as a voltage divider (between +15V and ground) and wire the middle lug through a 100K input resistor to the summing point of the other circuit input(s), before the inverting input of the input op amp?

Will this work and would I need any other components? Also what value and taper of pot would be best for this offset control?

Thanks!

sounds like a plan!
linear pot 100k would be fine (10k-100k ok)

Make one end of the pot +15V and the other -15V and you'll be able to offset in either direction with a linear pot.

Also, if the op amp feedback resistor is 100k, 100k to the center of the pot will give much too wide a range. 300k will give you +/-5 as an offset.
