The G2 is no longer listed on Nord USA site. The Lead series has also been removed from the Nord product list. _________________ varice |

Yeah, that's been in the pipeline for some time. Had to happen.
I think what we're seeing is the transition from "Clavia the synthesiser company" to "Nord the keyboard company". I think Clavia/Nord is moving away from making "pure synthesisers", which is understandable in a way. The Stage/Electro/Organ models sell by far higher numbers, while the synth market has plummeted considerably in the last years due to the transition to software instruments and ITB production. Also, Clavia had lost quite a bit of their market share to other synth manufacturers (especially Access) due to some glaring mistakes, eg. insisting on NOT including FX on the later Lead models. Come on, gotta have FX, guys! (At least they finally woke up when making the Wave. Although, how you can possibly place a tube overdrive stage AFTER the delay section is beyond me... )
And the G2 is probably the worst marketed product in synth history, given the fact that it is perhaps the greatest digital synth ever made. Oh well.
The Stage/Electro/Organ modes are great tools for the gigging musician. I like them alot. However, it's a pity to see Clavia/Nord obviously maneuvering themselves out of the synth field, because their user interfaces are so user-friendly. The Wave is not really where it is at (too many corners cut), although I might pick one up nevertheless because it's great for jamming. Pity.
Hold on to your G2s! |

And indeed, stick to your G2

You can't have mine!
For the future, though, I can't help wondering: Does Tassman run on a Receptor? |

Well, are you say'n that Clavia is teasing us just before they announce a new Nord Modular G3? I don't know, but I think that at least they would have released a G2 OS bug fix update by now if they really planned on keeping any future prospects of the modular concept alive. _________________ varice |

Obviously, the Modular G2 fell into a very narrow part of an already limited niche market. _________________ varice |

I contacted Clavia and they said there is no G3 in the works, and that they have no intention to make one at this time. |
