Hi Guys,

I am looking to get a Pacarana.

I have a motu 828mk2 spare but it looks like this is not supported.

I need 8 autio ins and 8 outs. So from the list I have the Lynx Aurora 8/FW, TC Electronic Studio Konnekt 48 or the MOTU UltraLite-mk3. The Motu I would not get as I have had problems with motu devices before and the other 2 interfaces are a little too expensive.

My idea is to get two M-Audio Fast Track Pros as they are cheap as chips and chain them to get the 8 ins and outs.

Does the Pacarana support more than one audio interface?

Cheers

Andy

Andy
it looks like you are back home Cool I think you have to ask Symbolic Sound about it.

Welcome back Andy.

Hi Guys,

Not quite back yet, but I am staying in a guesthouse with wifi.

Will be back home on Thursday night though.

I have emailed Symbolic sound about the audio interface idea and Carla said this would not work as the usb interface could only handle 4 tracks. Maybe it would with firewire I will email them about this.

What will work is getting a TC Konnekt 24D and using the ADAT pipe on that connected to another interface, this is what I am going for.

I am going to order a pacarana when I get back to try to fulfill my old aim of getting a 6 channel modular hardware synth for midi guitar and also for 6 channel polyphonic FX from my guitar through the RMC fanout box. Should be fun!

Cheers

Andy

Thanks Jan.

I have emailed about multiple firewire interfaces and will post the reply here.

Ok here is the firewire answer from Carla:

"It's not possible in the current version. A couple of people have asked about it, so we are planning to look into how difficult that would be to add."

Cheers

Settled on an audio interface yet?

One idea for polyphonic guitar processing that might be cool involves delay+pitch shift. I was nearly struck by gear-lust for Eventide's new Pitch Factor pedal, which includes a demo of rhythmically and harmonically interesting lines generated by the pedal off of a relatively simple melody line on the guitar.

Granted, when one strips down the functionality of the Eclipse/H7600 into a stompbox pedal, there are compromises and one notable one is that user scale selection and programmability on the Pitch Factor appears to be quite limited. But for the cost of an H7600, might not one have more flexibility using a Pacarana or Paca?

I will have a look for that demo.

I got a StudioKonnect 48 in the end I have it all connected up via adat to the computer and have been playing with it a little, an example of different delays on different strings can be found here:

http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-29452.html&postorder=asc

Unfortunately the Pacarana has been delayed for a few more weeks as they cannot get hold of one of the components so I am looking at end of April .

I just realized Delay Designer can do a lot of what the Pitch Factor pedal does, and I got it for free with Logic Studio. Cool
