I thought the first bit that gave it away was "The electro-music.com editorial board is among the most distinguished in the musical field", this was followed up with some howlers, my favorite being "

One editor from Italy, is reported to have said, "This money will help us prepare for the 4th dimensional malevolent aliens who are in the process of subjugating Earthlings."

I sent an email with a link and it's amazing how many people didn't see this is a joke. I'm going to take it down from the front page after a few more days. I don't want to start to get calls from long lost friends asking me for money. Smile

However, it would sure be nice to have some...

(friends and money, that is)

Dammit, I hate the first of April! Wink

Glad to hear it's a hoax, though. It would certainly be no improvement to the users. I kind of had a twinge of cognitive dissonance, though, when I read Howard's comment that they were "in it for the money." I guess that should have been the tip-off, right there, since I know electro-music.com is more a labor of love than anything else.

Somebody better call David Icke and let him know, then. Wink

Not me. I was interviewed twice for a position at Google Labs on the Carnegie Mellon campus, saw what an overall shitburger of a company it is, and in retrospect am glad that they felt the same way about me. They wouldn't touch anything as wild, free, and creative as EM. They are too busy reinventing the apparent universe in their own image.

Hall of mirrors.

I once stumbled upon a Google chatroom and visited periodically for a while. The mod was dying of cancer. He shared his love for music and his irreverent views on life freely. Then, slowly, he grew more silent until one day there was an announcement of his death. Rest in peace, coocoo.
