If I was to build one JH phaser out of the tau and the compact for my second project, which should it be? The JH triple chorus is the only analgue effects unit I own so far - hopefully to be first of many to give my electro hiphop sounds some vintage pizzazz...

They are very different, and each has its charms ...

Phasers in general can be so different ... I guess I could build 10 different ones and none of them could replace the other ... Probably I will, sooner or later. Laughing

JH.

I am finding the Tau to be a more straightforward build of the two... we'll see if that opinion holds up.

The Tau is more of a "tape flanger" effect. Both are brilliant but very different effects- so build both! Idea

CHeers for the input. I think I'll go for the tau for now then. Are there parts kits about?
