I would love to see what you could do with one of these.

First stab at Guitar synth can be found here http://electro-music.com/forum/post-241827.html#241827 currently only monophonic so not that easy to play, a lot of string muting is needed but is a start. Its a bit rough, especially the playing Smile

Depending on my financial situation over the next moths I'll be getting one too. I have read through the book and I'm quite exited about this!

I can't afford to go for the full Pacarama version though... but as I have understood it, the Paca is equivalent to a Capy with 20 processors in it. That sounds OK to me... Are there any sounds which on their own require more power than that?

I'm gettting a Paca as well in a month or so. Glad to see some of us are moving forward from the G2.

glad you got yours and nice little first sound. i often find myself geeking out making sounds at the expensive of actually writing songs or recording the output.

sadly my pacarana isn't going to ship this week. the back order of chips got a little back log going. as happy as i am for them to have demand for the new kit, i really want my pacarana. i'll likely have to separate it from my capy lest the capy gets jealous.

Well to my untrained eye it looks like there is a fan on top of each DSP, so maybe in the Paca you get half the fans and half the noise.

Hmm I forgot .. there was some odd law when adding statistically independent noise sources ... like a 3dB rise instead of 6dB for doubling the source count IIRC.

As I was laying in bed I came up with a fantastic idea for a patch. Then I realized that it would most likely max out a Paca.

So, now I guess I'm going to have to save for a Pacarana.

Oh well..noisy fans here I come... Laughing

They do an upgrade path from the Paca to the Pacarana for the first year after you purchase it.

So you could get it and if it isn't powerful enough send it back, pay some more cash and get the big brother.

Great! Will get a Paca then and see how long it takes me to max it out, probably not very long..

Nice one Jan, I really like my MacBook pro 17.

Amazing power really when you think of it, nice screen and keeps your hands nice and warm.

Are you running windows on it as well?
