so i breadboarded an apc using this layout Posted Image, might have been reduced in size. Click Image to view fullscreen. and it seems to work, as in sound is coming out of it and the pots are working and everything but all im hearing are ticks.. and the speed of the ticking is changed when i turn the pots... theres nothing too fancy about it though... does anyone have any ideas as too why?

Sounds like the caps are too large, are you sure you've got the right values?

Use the following substitutions instead :

.1 uF = 100 nF
.01 uF = 10 nF
