I've finished some basic code to translate Sudden-Motion-Sensor (accelerometer) data on Mac laptops (newer than 2005) into MIDI. Right now it is very basic, there are two methods illustrated. I'll be working on more useful versions of this but I thought I'd share this in case anyone would like to contribute to the code.

Method 1: x/y tilt to CC
Method 2: change in acceleration (tap, smack) to trigger a noteOn.

Known bug: I can't get Live to register these MIDI notes to play actual MIDI instruments, it will only register the NoteOn in "map mode". I think this has something to do with sending proper noteOn/noteOff combinations...any advice?

See the code for more description.

Looking forward to your comments.

Hmmm, that's odd. I don't have a Mac and didn't do a lot with Live any more but I do think sending just note-on messages in legal, some old drum computers would do that. I suppose it'd matter what you map it to; for some types of control a second note-on without a "off" in between wouldn't be very useful.
