July 16 mashup project

This past spring I started hanging out with a group of electronic musicians whom I met on meetup.com. We've been setting homework assignments for each other--two of them so far. Here is the first.

The idea for this project was for everyone to record a short piece of audio--no more than 10 seconds--to share with everyone in the group. Six of us participated, so there were 18 fragments in all.

The second part of the assignment, then, was to use any or all of these fragments, and no other audio, to make a piece of music up to 2 minutes long.

The piece is attached. The full set of samples is at the organizer's website. I'll post the samples I used separately (because there seems to be a limit of 5 attachments per post and I used 7 samples).

I used Ableton Live for all the audio processing -- most of it in their Sampler instrument.

Maybe we could do a similar thing here on the forum?
