I think they're very good when trad. musical notation doesn't seem to work, or warrant, the two-dimensionization(?) of a piece.

When you'd want more than time and pitch ... a traditional score would go into graphics and short words then as well ... or so it seems to my unaided eye.

Graphic scores seeming a natural extension, I mean .. wikipedia has not much on history .. too bad.

edit: hmm http://www.graphicalscores.org/wiki/forums.html/Graphical_scores_history .. too bad, but interesting site still.
