Adventure no. 201 - into the two infinity mirrors.

Sparse, with a reverb that is scaled up so much it becomes a multi looper.

This episode was pre-recorded as I was away in France at Sonic Weekend 10. I used pretty much the same setup as for Episode 200, but without the Benjolin, so Wavestation, OP-1 and iPad. I've been exploring the effects in the mini Kaoss pad and used some granular and rhythmic things to shape the sounds. Thanks to Rob for playing it for me Smile

It was great fun, a week with 25 other musicians, drinking lots of beer and making and recording music

Had some guitar pedals set up to create feedback, plus a mini kaoss pad (with its right output plugged back into its left input for serial mono operation), ipod touch running Bebot and a modified radio. The mixer is only sending its left out so I could use the right out as a separate buss for feedbacking. All of that was treated to Autotune effects to keep it (more or less) in an equal tempered C-ish scale and then recorded to RAM, where it was played back at half speed against itself. 30 minutes recording thus became an hour of dropped octave play. Some Nord Lead was added to the mix, and that's it.

Oh I forgot to say - the next time I am playing, in two weeks, I won't be here, so I will actually not be playing at all but be absent. If someone wants to play instead of me be my guest! Smile

Rather tired today due to having to get up far too early for work, so tonight's Adventures In Sound is just going to be looped drones from my new microbrute Smile

Is AIS on hiatus for the summer? Just cancelled for the day/week/month? What's the scoop? Inquiring ears want to know! Wink

Oh, I see:

Looks like no one took you up on your offer. Oh well. Maybe there will be another Muied Lumens AIS in another couple of weeks.

I'm still doing my episode every other week, and think Rob just had to miss a week

For tonight's Adventures in Sound I'll be making some weird ambient using a Casio HT-700, Kaoss Pad mini and Kaoss Pad Quad Smile

Episode 205 was performed using a Casio HT-700 synth/home keyboard, run through a kaoss pad mini into a kaoss pad quad then looped by a dd-20

Tonight's Adventures In Sound is entitled 'a sonic ritual for defence from chronovores', and will be produced using op-1, microbrute and vcs3 Smile

Episode 207 featured vcs3, microbrute and op-1, run through pandora mini for effects and dd-20 for looping. It was mostly chromatic, except for the vcs3 which did its own thing Smile

Continued using buffers to record and play back at different speeds - although one failed to start until the end. Not sure if that was a fault of mine or the machines. Embarassed
