Hi. Thanks in advance for any responses. I have a focusrite platinum compounder I would like to hook up to my motu 2408mk3 audio interface. Can someone tell me how I would go about this?

Are you trying to compress the output or an input signal? There are a few ways you could hook it up and have it work.

I happen to have a 2408 mk3 as one of my 3 interfaces, so I could comment on this, knowing what you're trying to accomplish with it.

I want to use it as an external effect in Cubase. So, I guess I want to compress internal signals.

you would send the cubase tracks you want to compress to analogue outputs on the motu, hook up these to the focusrite inputs, then route the outputs of the focusrite to analogue inputs on the motu, which you could then record on cubase on new tracks.
the track outs from cubase would probably be an auxiliary bus you set up in the DAW, or the main stereo bus if you want to "master".
Basically what youre doing is going out into the analogue domain to use the compounder, and then re-digitising to record its outputs.
