Hi

I am a very new user of Max/MSP and have no knowledge of the program. I have spent the last 2 days going through some tutorials to try and understand it. I am sure what I am trying to do is very simple but I am up against a strict deadline so thats why I am posting here.

I am trying to make some sort of volume analyzer so that when the micporhone recognizes a sound ^10db (for example) it triggers an audio beep. I have got to the stage where the beep is triggered when i click a button. I also have the microphone.

What i need to do is combine the microphone and the audio trigger somehow. The idea is to crush 2 different types of plastic bottles to sort them into different boxes.

Sorry for the lack of knowledge, I would really appriciate any help if someone has done somthing similar then that would be brilliant.

Cheers

dunno if deadlines past but u want to use peakamp~. you can change the response time by adding a number as an argument in the object (peakamp~ 5 would re-calculate the amp level every 5ms)

bye
