Someone started a thread a while back, and I can't seem to find it, about bartering. Instead of buying/selling stuff, we barter for products or services.

I have a bunch of electronic components that I need to go through. These are not necessarily audio electronics, just the stuff that I've collected over the years. I don't need it anymore, so I'm offering it in trade. Let me just reach my hand into the grab-bag of fun...

o a small chopped up protoboard
o a lenth of twisted pair wire
o #6-32 x 3/8" banana jacks
o a photocoupler relay
o a wirewound power resistor
o a handful of resistors and capacitors

You get the idea. What would you barter in trade for a grab bag of parts?

Les

p.s. I need web site development if you can do that.

What Andy, I should be giving such parts for free? I should shouldn't I? Well there's a whole big box of them there and I'll never use them. May as well barter eh? Friends, fun, and Freud?

Les

p.s. whoot!

I'm not saying you should give them away for free.
All I'm saying is that anyone who might find them desirable would have them already! Very Happy
I already have all the above mentioned items, and I don't even know why! Laughing

Well that's a good point, Andy. Still, I do have some good stuff to give away. I'll have to look through my stuff further and see if there's much worthwhile...

Les

p.s. I found three NOS MN3209 256 stage BBD chips in the basket. Those are NOT for sale...

OK, i went through all the stuff. It's really a bunch of junk, so it's not worth shipping. However I did find three wonderful little parts for the right DIY project. They are oscillating mirrors. You can use them to do laser graphics such as a laser pointer oscilloscope or something like that.

How they work is this: you put in a 30 Hz signal, I'm not sure what waveform but I think square wave. The mirror is designed to rotate at that frequency, tracing an arc across the room with a laser pointer. This is the horizontal of your oscilloscope. The vertical is done by levering a mirror off of a speaker (remove the cone if you don't want the sound).

Then you arrange the two so that the laser bounces off of them perpendicularly and you've got yourself a laser pointer oscilloscope for viewing your music.

One of them has a broken mirror but it should still work. Use that one for prototyping and perhaps use the others in practice, though there is enough mirror left on the broken one to still work.

I would like to barter these mirrors for something, just to make it fun...

Les
