Good evening,

I have a (noobish) Question. As far as I understood the NM can only send out the CC of his own Knobs. But is there a way to send out the note´s which my rack recieves via midi in? Or in other words what comes out the Midi out? 1. Clock 2. Knob CC 3.. anything else?

thanx for your attention and please forgive me my bad english..
Greetings

Midi Out only includes data generated by the instrument. To send incoming notes (or other incoming midi data) out, you need a midi Thru port. This applies to most all midi devices, except some sequencers or devices that have a built-in "merge" function. You can do what you want with an external midi merger or thru box, depending on your configuration.

Okay. But I can assign a CC value and a knob to a parameter, so when I now change the CC value it will be transmitted via midi out, won´t it? And that means If I have an extra slot free, I could design a patch to let 18 Midi CC "thru the synth" ( and I don´t have to pay 30 euro for a Mergebox)?

thanks or the answer and may coming answers.

Open a slot, put 18 "constant level" each one assign to the same CC# as your external midi controllers. Should work.

If you want to merge note information from another synth with controllers generated by the nord modular you will need a midi merger to merge the out with the thru

Have you tried it? Very Happy It's the Knob which generates MidiOut, not the Midi In.

I'm sure it works. I've already use this feature with my DAW. It's logical : this is a feature for those who used external sequencer. So if you want to record NM knob mouvement in your DAW , you also need the possibility to send those mouvement to the NM itself when you push PLAY...
Sorry for my bad english.

Sure, but that's not what joggle wants to do, I think. As I understand from this
Quote:

That is not the knob!
Quote:

joggle expects the CC to change the knob too, not only the parameter. If so, he could use the CC Midi out to be used as a Midi Through set up.
Only the knob isn't controlled by the incoming Midi CC, only the parameter is. And the knob is the one who sends the CC out...

In short: the knob can control the Midi CC, but the Midi CC can't control the knob. Both can control the parameter.

Wout

PS The NordLead 3 can and the G2 (That one can do even much more), but both have a Midi Through already Smile
