Are the trimpots best as multi-turn or single? I don't see it specified, but the graphics on the PCB look like multi-turn. (Unfortunately the single turn trimpots I ordered face into other components making them pretty useless!)
(I have the same question about the PS3100 which I received today thanks very much!)
Thanks!

it is meant to be multiturn, however for my SMT version i used single turn, which works well, too. you just need a calm hand

see above. and the trims on the PS3100 are not critical anyways (IMHO) _________________

does it clip at the testpiont TP2, or does it clip at the output? latter would be the feature, not a bug. |
Hi, I'm finally getting around to trying out this module more thoroughly and I'm having problems including the fact that it seems a little TOO distorted. If I use a triangle wave into either the mod or carrier, the waveform at the related test points looks a little sinusoidal. Not completely, just like a triangle with more curve. What could be causing this?
(Adjusting the trimmers seems to affect the waveform but the result never seems to be a proper triangle.... and anyways, I assume the trimmers are merely supposed to adjust DC offset, no?) _________________ -Jim |

you never will get out what you put in
i tried it with a triangle, and i never got it perfect at the TP's. the VCA'a are stripped down.
anyways, unlike other ringmods you could not use this modulator as a VCA. it is a weird voltage mangler in the end... _________________

Oh, ok, well, good to know. A little mangling always comes in handy. Good to know to expect it! _________________ -Jim |
