At least I'll be able to get on more or less around start time. I might crank it up and listen while gardening. Maybe even share some dirt via HDTP (Hyper-Dirt Transfer Protocol) before going on with my set.
Hmm ... maybe we should start the chatroom thing an hour early then
I think there may have been some schedule changes that shorten it up an hour...
we also originally had 2 hours allotted for the midichat. when the schedule was remade we choose to leave the extra hour off of the schedule, as we will probably go longer than 2 hours anyway.

I had great fun playing and listening. You'd think you'd get a bit blasee after having done so many of these, but I keep getting surprised at the breadth of musical creativity at electro-music.com, and the fun of playing. Thanks so very very much for organising this!
Some words on my set (attached): i've used Ableton Live lots for a while, but mostly just as a DAW with extra looping facilities. This time I decided to try to see how it works "Live", switching clips live. I had planned to try to do a bit more editing of MIDI sequences while playing, but I ended up doing some clips just before the performance and switched between those with the monome. I used a couple of native Live instruments and also sent MIDI to the PEK and the modular. I also fed some guitar into Live's looper thingie.
The first (and greater) part features some words going through a vocoder on the Ion, mostly the words "Academics" and "E-M" - referring to the way we all learn stuff at electro-music.com, paper degree or no. The words were prerecorded, allowing me to concentrate on jamming some chords on the Ion and doing other stuff.
The middle part is G2 noodling, then onto another Live set with more prerecorded words, this time played straight. As the other stuff, it is 140 BPM, but with the triplet setting it allowed for a tempo suitable for the more laid back nature of this part. I've posted the lyrics in the big lyric thread, in case anyone's interested: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-37903.html&p=288917 .

My half hour set. I had fun playing.
I had a lot more fun listening to everyone else. A lot of variety. Good to see we had a lot of listeners too.

This was a lot of fun. My set was prepared, but more than half new stuff just for this event (most of which will go on to become more fleshed out and released). If we have a summer event, I'd really like to try to do it live. I think that might alter my basic style in some way, but it'd be in a good way.
It was fantastic listening to everyone else. I'm really honoured to be a part of such a talented crowd.

i can only add to what's been said already: thank you for the opportunity to listening to such diverse and nicely executed music!
thank also to those who organized the event and made this possible!
today we experienced a beautiful, sunny spring day at sweden's west coast so the effort was not in vain.
looking forward to the next event here at electro-music.com

Had a great time last night at Bill's studio.
Bill, Dan, and myself really pulled that set out at last minute.
Dan was using Reaktor for pads and f/x
Bill was using some VSTs and hardware for leads and sounds
I was on the EMX thru a KP3 controlling beats/chops and some f/x
It was a blast and really got us psyched for our Poconos set.
Can't wait for Bill to post last night's set to hear it from an outside perspective.

My set was improvised using:
Yamaha CS-01 for analogue drones and leads
Yamaha VSS-30 for sampled granular sounds
Gotharman deMoon for main sequence
DSI Evolver for additional sequences
ipod touch using Curtis Heavy for granular sounds and nlog for synth sounds
Frostwave Resonator for hi and lo-pass filtering
Electrix repeater for live looping and time-stretching
Boss DD-20 for delay
Alesis Wedge for reverb
It all came out a lot deeper and darker than expected
I enjoyed the whole event and heard some great music from all involved
Thanks to shane and all involved with hosting and organizing this event. I heard some really cool stuff.
This is a live drone using 3 STS Serge Modular panels.
