Folks, please be careful with buying and selling on this forum. I can understand that we all want to trust everyone on these forums, unfortunately there are people who don't appear to deserve our trust.
Some simple things you can do:
1) don't just start PMs with someone who just joined the forums to sell something and hasn't posted. Low post counts indicate people that you, and we, don't know. This isn't to say don't use PMs - just think about starting private conversations with people you don't know and haven't even been part of this community.
2) Protect yourself financially. Paypal is a good start, but be very sure who you are dealing with before you let money pass hands, and make sure you know where the person lives (and a real, checkable name). Don't make payments by untraceable means, and if the seller insists on it, perhaps you don't need that item so badly.
3) If you suspect something isn't okay, please do tell one of the moderators, or the admins. We can't help a lot after the deal has gone bad, but we can keep that person from posting here again.
4) "background checking" of users by the forum administration is not a service we provide beyond making sure that an IP address comes from the part of the world the person says they are from, and that there aren't duplicate accounts for that IP address. We can't, and won't, attempt to pry any further.
5) You ultimately assume the risk for your transactions here. electro-music.com cannot in any way be held responsible for your private transactions.
Thanks. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.
