Clarity Retro? Subject description: how to use it? |

I picked one of these up years ago, but never used it. Appears to be a fairly fully-featured multi-channel MIDI->CV converter. But it's eight bits. Since I like my analog pitches to smoothly flow around I decided I had no need for it at the time. Also it looked like a PITA to use. Now I am trying some basic CV control via my MOTU 828 and decided that doing triggers and gates with the Retro might be a cool idea, so I can save my 828s high-res outputs for other things.
Problem is that I lost the manual. It got near some flood waters and started to get moldy, so I decided that rather than discard it, I'd set it aside and scan it later... Now I can't find it! Fortunately it has a guide on the panel as to what the various modes are, but the controls themselves are a bit cryptic and I am not sure how they relate. The buttons are:
Ch - (Ch)annel
By - (By)pass
M - appears to be (M)IDI source
S - (S)caling
D - (D)estination
CPT - ?
Pr - ?
Pa - ?
and also a numeric pad, increment/decrement arrows.
The unit appears to power on and be responsive, but I don't know how to get it to do anything. If I start figuring it out, or find the manual to scan, I'll post updates here. |

Do you still need a manual?
I have a word .DOC file that's only about 40k zipped up.
I'd be happy to send it to you via email.
The thing is kind of odd, but once you get the interface, it's quite simple.
It does seem very un-intuitive, and I was lost without a manual.
The .DOC file was sent to me by Craig Anderton himself [he actually wrote the manual for them] after I asked him if he still had a copy around.
Let me know.
