Hi,
I konw buying stuff question is seem boring and stupid...I am new for these stuff. pleaseee... help me to make a decision.
Like you guys know. I had noodle for a year. now I have enough money to add new stuff in my setup. I reaally like G2 that I why I alway ask you guys here. ok, this my another question about buying G2. please help!!

I am using mac(osx) with Pro Tools and Reason. I also have microKorg and a drum machine which has a good sequencer. now I getting bored with Reason and microKorg(I still like them actually). so I m thinking, what is the next device that I should get to be a good combination for my recently setup.

Between G2 and Reaktor+controller(microKontrol or Kontro49). I know both of them require a good computer. especially Reaktor in live situation but this is not my problem. my problem is I like both of them. Reaktor has everything but it still need controller and lot of CPU. G2 lack of sampler and fancy synth which Reaktor has. I think for this issue I can use Malstorm and NN-XT in Reason still, right?. I also like the hardware keyboard of G2. It looks really nice for live performance. What do you think?

which setup is interesting for you?

A) computer(Pro Tools+Reason) + drum machine + G2 + (I will start eat noodle again for next year to get mpc1000 or electribe-esx)

B) computer(Pro Tools+Reason) + drum machine + REAKTOR + midicontroller + (If I have money left I will get mpc1000 or electribe-esx)

C) keep my money and pay for the bill. buy some good food

Norm, picking a synth is like picking a girlfriend. Use your own judgement. Still, I would be surprised if you got a negative reaction about the G2 on this site.

Get the G2, chicks love them... Laughing

If you are making the choice between the G2 and Reaktor, I say get the G2 first. (I use both synths, and they are the only synths I use.) Reaktor is very much the same as the G2 (but with sampling capability) but there are some disadvantages with Reaktor....

1) It is only as good as your computer hardware
2) Playing live with Reaktor is only as good as your MIDI controller
(there is no better, currently available, MIDI controller for Reaktor than the Nord G2. I've checked.)
3) Playing live with Reaktor is only as portable as your computer (better have a good laptop to play out with it)

My recommendation : buy the Nord G2, eat noodles for only a few months more, and then get Reaktor. Use the G2 as the midi controller for Reaktor, it is the perfect compliment. Between this one hardware synth and one software synth in combination, I am not yet aware of what sounds I can't get.
