again another topic

i'm probably too "young" in electro-music forum maybe to have my word to say

but if you want some income for this forum
just put a case "donate" on the website !!

i think free releases must stay free !
it's the simple base of free music

I find myself agreeing with both sides of the debate here...

I do like free music being free. That is very important to me as well. However the site also does require money to stay afloat. Apart from the hw/sw sales... I believe the site's only other funding is donations only. I was thinking of something that could blend both.

One solution could be an album that could be downloaded for free, but also with an option that people could donate any amount of money they want for the album to help contribute to the costs of the website. People could be encouraged to start with a $1 or more donation. Also, a compilation like this doesn't necessarily have to come from a field recs only event. It could be a separate thing from the field recs stuff.

I think a number of people would contribute... if sort of presented a particular opportunity to do so.

Just some thoughts... Laughing

Again... love the album and stoked that so many people have dled and checked it out. Great for the artists and the site imo!

That's what I said. Razz

That'd be the point.

yes Wink
it should be as easy as possible to make a donation e.g. by placing the paypal button next to the announcement.

best regards

Hi all. Just dropping by to say that the compilation sounds very very nice. It's definitely hi quality stuff. I'm glad i'm part of it.

I've spread the word and got some very nice feedback, from friends mostly.

Great stuff.

Cheers from snowy Belgrado,
Nikola
