LIVE ART AND CHARITY AUCTION FOR PAINTING BY REMI/ROUGHE DONE AT SOUNDCRASH, KOKO. SIGNED BY DJ KRUSH & PREFUSE 73 (AND ARTIST REMI/ROUGHE)

Because having Dj Krush, Prefuse 73, Stuart McCallum, Anchorsong and Stateless playing on the same night just wasn’t enough, Soundcrash commissioned Remi/Roughe to create a piece of artwork live on the night that’s now being auctioned for charity. This work was created whilst being projected on the big screen at Koko in front of 1500 soundcrashers during the Prefuse and Krush sets last week.

Photos from the night here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ventphoto/5095334864/

Remi’s work is incredibly valuable regularly selling for over £5k, many peices also being bought by the Design Museum in London and many other museums around the world (check full biog below).
So if you add the Krush and Prefuse signatures to this then you have something very special.

Who knows, you might bag a bargain and in the process Macmillan Cancer Support takes a wad of money for their cause.

REMI/ROUGHE BIOG:

To make the innocent and beautiful dark, to find soul in stark, geometric swashes - somewhere beneath the acrylic, emulsion and spray paint grins Remi/Rough. South London born and bred (circa 1971) Remi Morgan has been breaking boundaries and messing up heads for the past 24 years. Transcending the traditional and somewhat idealised vision of a graffiti writer, the celebrated artist is passionate and unforgiving in his creative progression. As part of the abstract Ikonoklast Movement of the 90s or his role in supporting the evolution of the UK graffiti art scene throughout the decade prior. Or as a visual consultant for Red Bull and Nike. He is a proud graffiti writer, artist, illustrator, designer, art director, curator, musician and loving partner and father.

On the 1st August 2008 Remi/Rough held court at London's Tate Modern. As part of the Tate's Street Art exhibition and series, he was invited to talk on the underground history of UK graffiti in front of a sell-out auditorium. His deep rooted personal gallery relationships date back to the murky days of 1989 when he unveiled his debut art show and has since gone on to see his work exhibited All City, All Global. London to Paris, Perth, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Berlin, Hamburg, Strasbourg, Edinburgh and Ibiza. And he ain't done yet.
