Anyone familiar with the ChucK shell should hopefully be able to help me...

I am trying to read a .ck source file into the ChucK shell and then add it to the virtual machine.

As I understand, the technique as follows:
Code:

chuck --shell
chuck %> code read file.ck test
chuck %> code add test


This should add the code from file.ck into the default VM that ChucK starts.
HOWEVER
When I attempt this, I receive an error along the lines of:
Code:

[tmp.0.Jn8KOnp]: syntax error
[chuck]: skipping file '/var/tmp/tmp.0.Jn8KOnp' for [add]...
add: error: command failed


I know there aren't actually syntax errors in the code for file.ck, because I can type 'chuck file.ck' and it runs without problem.

Any ideas?
