Basically a 4 Osc's from a 40106 chip and an WSG filter.
Kinda based on Beavis' Heterodyne Space Explorer, -thanks Beavis!
But I left some stuff out and added a filter.

Can get some nice drony spacey sounds out if it.

The best bits are at 5:46, 6:50 and 10:46 plus some interesting stuff near the end.
Actually this is my first project actually good enough to put in an enclosure
.

nice work!

Clean, effective and rock solid. I wish my first project was like that Razz .

Really fun stuff! After I tidy up my big box of lunetta love, I want to make a few self contained art pieces. I love these builds because you can sense that 'tip of the iceburg' feeling.

Thanks for posting acid Very Happy .

Your welcome Draal and thanks Tjookum.
This project sat on breadboard for months before I realized it was time for
it's own enclosure.
Just didn't think it was good enough, so I'm glad you like it.

Very nice packaged drone machine. Adding the filter really makes it nice.

UPDATE

2nd prototype, bigger enclosure, better knobs, and decals.

I had a heck of a time fitting all the electronics into the first one, so I had
a bigger one made.
Everything fits nicely now, also got rid of the filter switch, now the WSG filter
is always on.
Something I've noticed when I turn on my little spacey lunetta,(now calling it the Space Drone), it takes about a minute for the sound to come thru the speakers, there is no sound when I first turn it on.
Is this normal for a lunetta? I don't remember it doing this when I had it on bread board.
It reminds of me of the old "tube" radio and TV sets that needed to warm up first.

There really is no "normal" when building a lunetta but it is a little strange. My first thought is the powersupply, what did you use?
My second thought, just call it a feature Smile . It actually sounds like a good feature too, having to wait a little before you can dive in, a little like a nice warm bath.

I'm using a 12vdc 500ma walwart I got from Jameco.
Another funny thing is when I tried a 9vdc 300ma I got from a local supply.
I got nothing, I mean absolutely not a sound, like it wasn't enough juice for
the 4 ocs's. Question

But that was a bargain bin model I got for like 95cents Shocked
So it's no biggie.

Yeah a "feature" I like that, the little micro tubes have to warm up, he he thumright

what kind of power supply filtering caps are you using? could it be they're soaking up a large amount of current before sending it to the IC? Just a thought.

Ooo I never thought of that.
I'm using a single 47uF cap on the power rail.
Also there is a 220uF (voltage divider) on the 741 op amp.

Hmm...that's a pretty normal size...

That was my first guess too, but judging by the size I'd say it's something else. Beats me! Shocked

Oh well I guess it's something I'll have to live with.

Would like to know why it does that though.

Adorable little box.

Did you use resistors or diodes for mixing the 4 osc's ?
