Own Your Tone Progress Subject description: good response from someone local |
|
|
I'm at the end of my rope financially and I need cash to relocate, so I decided to sell my Own Your Tone guitar. I placed a couple of ads in Craigslist, one selling the guitar for an outrageous price and the other asking for business advice about the project.
Well, long story short I got a very good response from this guy who has a studio nearby in Fort Lauderdale Florida USA. Through email and telephone I discovered him to be quite knowledgeable in this area of technology, both guitars and pickups / inventions related to guitar sound / etc. He's going to stop by my shoddy little apartment in a couple of days and play my prototype Squire.
The guy said some things along the lines of this could be revolutionary in the guitar world and he could be just the right person to spark interest within the guitar community.
Funny, such a depressing Christmas Holiday, at my wit's end and leaving town soon for (hopefully) a better place with nothing but a suitcase and a guitar.... and suddenly this person shows up and gives me hope again. Maybe it will all be OK...

Thanks Andy, it's at least a glimmer of hope. And here's another...
I put an ad in the Wyoming Craigslist musicians section about the guitar invention. I got one response from a professional musician who said if it's good (and it is, I must immodestly admit) then he can help promote it by playing it with other musicians. Oh, why Wyoming? I'm moving there next month.
Also I've been thinking of the possibilities that might unfold once people become aware of this new-oldish technology. There's a tremendous amount that can be done including magnet placement and mechanical adjusting mechanisms, including some other stuff too. Patents aren't really going to matter much in this field I think because there well be so many varieties and variations to conjure up, you can do the same thing with subtle differences in three unique ways, etc. etc.
It's gonna make a bit of a stir in the guitar world, I'm tellin ya. I believe in this.
