I have the opportunity to tear apart three old organs, one of which is a Yamaha Electone BK5 (havent seen the others yet).
I want to do a few things including saving the rhythm units. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it as simple as identifying the boards, extracting them, powering them and hooking them to an amp? Or will it be impossible?

Last year I got into collecting rhythm boards from old organs for the same reason. I'm sure it's doable, but you need to know:

1) What power supply voltages the board needs and where to connect them
2) Where the trigger inputs are, and what type of triggers they want (positive going, negative going)
3) Where the output is and what level you might need to change it to.

A service manual for the organ will help greatly!
