Hi! I just spent a good hour trying to figure out the answer to this question by reading these forums and other websites and still can't figure it out. I'm pretty new to MIDI so forgive me. I'm using the Micro Modular and Live 7. I'm using the OSX editor and have had no problems with it (besides the occasional crash.)

I would like to know if it is possible to control parameters using automation through ableton while in arrangement view. I have successfully sent MIDI notes into the modular, but I couldn't control either the 3 assigned knobs or (what would be the most ideal:) the individual parameters within a given patch on the arrangement view/timeline.

I've seen a couple mentions of assigning CC to a particular channel while editing the patch. While I've been able to assign the modular's physical knobs to parameters through the editor with no problem, when I right-click on parameters I don't see any sort of an option regarding CC.

In an ideal world I would be able to control the micro modular just how I would a softsynth like Operator. Is that possible? It seems like I should at least be able to control the 3 knobs through my DAW. And if my DAW could control any or all of the parameters on my patches that would be great.

Thanks much for your time!

I have never used OSX version of the editor, but i reckon it's done the same way as in Windows environment.

Right-click on the parameter (knob/button) you wish to assign specific controller to, navigate to MIDI Controller -> Other ..., and select the CC number you wish this parameter to respond to. Of course it works with morph group controllers too.

Hey thanks for the help.

I was surprised that the automation seems to only show in the session/clip view but that works too. Just didn't know where to look. Thanks much!
