Been away for a few days - looks like it's just us! Very Happy I'll have a look at the thing today, go through all my print outs!

yeah seems so charlie

im interested whether there will be a silence bridge pot as well as the level pot for each channel.

can anyone who has a complete build determine this?

in jurgen's example panel he had a addition / bridging pot and a channel level pot.

do you think the addition / bridging pot was the pause bus / silence bridge?

Hi everyone. I am new here and I have a question on the power supply, about Q2701 and R2713. What do I have to adjust here ? Any idea is welcome.

Thank you in advance !

Best regards

Bernhard

that will adjust the led brightness for all leds using the led power bus

Good morning everybody. Some more "silly" questions regarding the speech amp.

- which value are you using for the SP_LEVEL Pot ?

- looking at the schematics of the speech_input_amp I am asking me what's the difference between the Speech socket and the SPEECH_AMP ? Looking at other schematics I see that the SPEECH_AMP ist used. So what will you do with the Speech socket (that's SPEECH_AMP plus R2130)

- Switch to bypass Vactrol LED: So only the LED is bypassed. Is that correct ? The limiter function itself is not inhibited

Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks a lot in advance

just got back from holidays Smile

the speech amp routes the signal to the silence bridging circuit, slew / freeze circuit, attack detector and v/uv. the speech connector is the bus sending speech to the speech analysis filters in each channel.

im not exactly sure how the limiter circuit works but my assumption is the switch turns the limiting on and off.

fyi i found another mismatch from schematic to pcb

R0126/R0127 in LPF is 33k on the schematic and 39k on the pcb

im going to with 39k for now

Just find a wrong R value on channel_3.as schematic while simulating. R0307 must be at 1k5 instead of 1k8. Otherwise you are about 3dB on the low side with channel 3.

ok well im testing modules now

psu ok - i used the onboard psu
synth in seems okay but i guess ill need to verify once i have more modules and channels tested ( i used ssm2019 btw and not seeing any instability )

now im up to v/uv and i have a question

should the voiced led stay on with no signal?

can someone let me know if this is a correct interpretation of the v/uv circuit

speech amp is sent to preamp (U2301)
output of speech amp is routed to 2 filters (high / low) with a pan pot to detect muffled and high pitch noise sounds
each filter passes through a precision rectifier
outputs of rectified filter channels are sent to a comparator which triggers the unvoiced state
comparator output routed to another comparator (determining the voiced state as the invert of the unvoiced) as well as feeding the hysteresis circuit (j2301)

So I did the changes suggested by Sound. The things I had to change in the changes was the noise level. Cause even with the noise level trimmer turned down it was still 4x higher than the replacement signal. So I reverted back to the 18K / 100K setting, which brought it down to a better level..

fyi my noise level is really high as well when using the 10k / 1k8

Hey guys,

Hope nobody minds me posting on an old thread..

I've been speaking with Ralf over at RandomSouce regarding the Vocoder. He's out of stock on the vocoder PCBs, so I'm attempting a redesign of the circuit, replacing the common components with SMD equivalents, so that parts of the circuit can be factory soldered, making it more accessible to DIYers (myself included!)

At the moment, I'm a little stumped by the schematic - the LM13600 OTA of the filter VCAs have a connection to -v1.. I've circled it here:

https://imgur.com/a/gltOsMm

Can someone tell me which physical pin on a LM13600 this is? Or is it a schematic error?

Thanks!
Carl

it sounds really niche!
What is the status now?

Best regards,

Francois
