This is the first design I made from scratch on my own. It is a simple idea, but I think the result is awesome. Six 555 timer circuits that flash variable rate LEDs and DIY vactrols trigger the keys on the keyboard. You can get a lot of weird patterns and play the keyboard faster than any person's hands could. I have yet to box it and put on the knobs, label the notes, etc. But functionality is fully there. Let me know what you think!

Nice triggering concept on this! To reduce the chip count, you should be able to get one 40106 to do the same job as the 6 555s - it has 6 oscs so would be ideal. You can also feed the input from an osc into a 4016 to trigger keys and buttons, the DIY vactrols can be saved for controlling pots Smile

You would need two 4016 chips as each has 4 gates.
