Yeah, sorry, the MB-808 site is down because the hosting fee didn't get paid. I put in my own charge card info and resubmitted the payment, so hopefully we'll be back up and running soon.

Are you guys interested in pcbs for the individual 808 voices?

Honestly, Doug, I'd love an MB-808 kit if you've got one. Though I'll take drum modules as a consolation prize.

The idea of plugging a 'real' 808 bass drum, snare and hi-hat into my Korg EM1 (via midi) is just too nice an idea! Very Happy

Ja! We actually say the same here too! But then again, the English are all anglo-saxon Germans anyway! We like beer, sausages and brass bands. Shocked German! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Prost! Cool Very Happy

I've done that same thing, gathered my parts for a perfboard rendition.

I'd love some PCBs.

I usually say, "Does the Pope wear a funny hat?" But then most of my life is just the soundtrack to Raising Arizona, so that would explain it.

It sounds to me like the white noise input is disconnected or the noise circuit isn't working, start checking out that.

Sebo, the white noise circuit had a transistor on the schematic with the pins connected incorrectly. I resoldered it with B to ground and C open (like in the TR-808 service manual) and it now works. Woohoo! It's when things go wrong that you learn the most, you know.

@v-un-v-- Thanks for the warm welcome. The Clap Raca was my second project after having done Eric Archer's DIY-low pass filter project. I just got my x0xi0 kit this week. But first, a rimshot unit to complement my TR-606 along side the Clap Raca... I think I'm hooked, guys.
