Hey folks
This season I'm giving Clavia my love (less so the nord rack 2) more the micro-modular and G1k (waldorf next season, DSI last)
I've been building up to a USB midi hack on my G1k whilst pondering the space to drop in a wheel or two or joystick or an arduino
One or the other will happen, i'm sticking with the gear so I don't mind altering it for the better
It struck me that it may be easiest to take the boards/engine out and fit these in my own bespoke case together with a better keyboard (with aftertouch and pitch/modwheel) from another product

I've seen excellent examples of G1k mods in the past, but has anyone done a frankenstein job like the one i described ? I'm thinking aluminium facia with wooden end cheeks
Can anyone speculate whether this would be easy based on their own experiences?
Anyone remember the original Nord Modulars ? ;-)

PS Whilst I'm here

Anyone selling, or tempted to part with, a voice expansion for the G1 ?

There are lots of people who have taken the insides out of various synths and made their own cases. I say give it a try! If it fails, you can just put it all back the way it was...

Encore Electronics is selling expansions...
