this is quite normal. they just don't care, and how could they? BTW i would have taken the boards even in green, as long as they work great - and that's what they do... _________________

Hi Hex
Well, I never heard back from Feedburner, but prompted by your reply, I just tried to register again, and this time I was successful
Great news on the boards also.

Green ? yes even green would have been fine
white is too cool once you get the flux off
like the midibox 5x5x5 boards which looked great
yellow, now yellow would be orsm, a nice bright saffron yellow with a purple silk screen
I dont have any yellow boards yet
I have green, oh so many green , i have blue , i have red , i have black and i have white ,
alas no yellow
I must do a big bright yellow board next, Oh and orange how could i forget orange, Ok the one after that must be orange and then purple maybe
I do enjoy seeing boards done in different colours it adds something
to the build, making it a better experience . so white for now is nicer than green
but really only because i have oh so many in green _________________ In an infinite universe one might very well

Ah! Darn...I missed this comment until now, Fonik. Sorry about that
It seems to happen every month or so with electro-music that I somehow am not emailed when there's a thread response. Weird...
Anyway, the build manual is nearly complete. Just finishing up the parts on modifications/panel wiring and it should be good to go.
The bill of materials has been posted for quite some time now if that is what you are looking for (check my signature ), also, the schematics are available on my cv.hexinverter.net site. _________________ hexinverter.net -- Shop DIY projects and modules for modular synthesis

I am very pleased to say that I just got back from bringing a box filled to the brim with bundles of analogue love to the post office.
Yes, I have shipped everyone's pre-orders!!!
Thanks to everyone who made this project happen -- it is SO cool when this sort of obscure project that would normally not have enough local support to happen is made possible through the combined efforts of people around the globe.
If there are any questions or concerns when your PCBs/kits arrive, or if it's been an insanely long time and stuff hasn't shown up, don't hesitate to contact me directly via email. It's the quickest way to get hold of me if you need something
I am at about 22 pages complete of the manual. It will be done shortly, and then released for everyone to use.
I apologize in advance if someone's stuff gets to them before I can finish the manual. I'm doing my best! _________________ hexinverter.net -- Shop DIY projects and modules for modular synthesis

thanks hexinverter that is really good news to hear
the current mood is understandably sombre at the moment
otherwise i am sure you would have had many more replies to your announcement sooner than this.
I will await the postal service now and the inevitable dreaded xmas slowdown _________________ In an infinite universe one might very well

Hehe, yeah, I was thinking that when I mailed them. Some of you folks in far-away lands may not get your stuff until after the new year if the post is held up _________________ hexinverter.net -- Shop DIY projects and modules for modular synthesis

Heya Marv,
Yeah, sorry! I forgot to post a link in the forums after releasing them a couple days ago. I am usually lazy and do not go and post on the forums as well as the hexinverter.net blog, as I am on multiple forums...
I made a blog post about it, but not here, is what I am saying:

Here's a link for you!:

Thanks, Hex... I don't visit blogs much (heresy!), just don't have the time. I appreciate the link, have found the doc and am impressed with your work. Gonna be a fun project. Thanks for making it happen.

Hey guys, so kits are sold out for now. Sorry!
I will have more in stock probably by Monday of next week, then that will be the last kit stock ever!
I still have a bunch of minimal kits (just PCB/hardware, pots and switches) as well as a boatload of just PCBs left if you cannot wait! _________________ hexinverter.net -- Shop DIY projects and modules for modular synthesis

Hey Hex... since you're not going to be stocking the parts in the future but have lots of PCBs available, how about posting some Mouser and Digikey x-ref part numbers for the pots and switches. I know you have a Farnell number out there for one of them, but the other vendors are more convenient for many folks, myself included. Just a thought..........

Hey Marv,
I'm actually working on putting together a little part sourcing guide for people to use. It will include a Mouser project that people can just add to their cart.
RE: the switches, I actually know of no other distributors of this particular switch other than Futurlec. So, sorry...you're going to have to order from them and wait out their miserably long shipping unless you can find someone else who stocks it! I think C&K makes a similar switch with the same footprint...
Actually, I just spent the last while finding C&K's alternative that should be compatible. It's many orders of magnitude more expensive but I am sure it is an amazing quality switch compared to the cheaper ones used in the kits:
http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/CK-Components/ET03SD1CBE/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtFyPk3yBMYYAs8o3m84Tdqrxwdlypo8nY%3d
Basically, you need an ON-OFF-ON toggle switch with 2.54mm lead spacing and leads with a diameter <=1.4mm -- not exactly common, but I'm sure there are others out there. _________________ hexinverter.net -- Shop DIY projects and modules for modular synthesis

Thanks, Hex, really nice of you to do all this.
I got to poking around, found a Digikey item by E-switch around 1/2 the price of the C&K unit... go to http://tinyurl.com/8637tah to see it. I've had good luck with E-switch in the past, gonna give these a try.

Hey, no problem Marv! I'm glad to do whatever I can to help.
Hmm, your link isn't working. Digikey says part number not found. How about just copy pasting the part number to let me take a look at it and make sure it will work for you? _________________ hexinverter.net -- Shop DIY projects and modules for modular synthesis

This one here will work, if that's the one you were referring to. It's a bit cheaper than the Mouser one as well, but if you're not ordering anything else from Digikey it's probably cheaper to go with Mouser to get everything from one place.
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/dksearch/dksus.dll?vendor=0&keywords=EG2463-ND
EDIT: if you are doing a lot of sympleSEQs you may find it cheaper to get these, as they get cheaper >=25pcs! _________________ hexinverter.net -- Shop DIY projects and modules for modular synthesis

Interesting... the tinyurl worked fine for me. The switch I was referring to is Digikey's part number EG2451-ND... same switch but with metal panel mount sleeve, and less expensive yet.

Weird...still not working for me. Might just be my browser or something. It takes me to Digikey, but Digikey says it can't find the part number.
RE: the switch.
Nice find! That one should work just fine as well. You won't even have to modify the 5mm drill size I quote in the drill template section of the build manual. Perfect
EDIT: here's the link for anyone looking.
