Calendar Event: October 1, 2011

Hi everybody, I will be presenting a sound/scent/sight installation entitled "Faeries in Flight" at this year's SoundWalk festival in Long Beach, CA.
The event lasts from 5-10 PM and is spread throughout indoor and outdoor locations in the East Village Arts District of downtown Long Beach.

Incidentally my piece incorporates Ambiophonic DSP processing to create a wide soundfield. I hope to see/hear you there!

It was a lot of fun! I was honored to participate.
My favorite things were live analog electronics and relational sound art pieces.
To be honest a lot of the high-tech stuff (mostly Max/MSP/iPads) left me cold.

I came across this link to Australian sound art resources.

Ross Bencina (developer of AudioMulch) lives in Melbourne, I'm sure he knows where the good stuff is going on.

Also, on a slightly larger scale, Brian Eno threw his multi-week Scenius festival and lit the sails of the Sydney Opera House in 2009.

Do let me know what you find, I'd love to make beautiful noise Down Under someday!!! If you don't find what you want, get together with some folks and make your own festival.
