ImageShack Album - 4 images

I produce electronic music, and i don't have much gear, mother said my christmas limit was 300, or maybe i should just save up MY funds and go for something more....300 could get a decent laptop...

Any way, monitoring suggestions? Headphones (Audio technicia ath m50s) are my monitors currently, as those horrible m-audios are broke...that audio interface is a tascam us-100 (ugh)

Thank you so much in advance!

My son has been creating all sorts of interesting stuff with some fairly budget instruments. He's a guitar player, so he used his guitar, a Kaoss pad (the little one), an iPod, Akai Synthstation 25 and an old Macbook. I monitor through headphones mostly, Grado SR325, but those alone are over $300.00.

I buy most of my stuff used, and a pair of Grado SR80s or SR125s are great headphones and easily within your budget. They also have quite a flat response so you can at least dial in whatever tonal bias you want for a song. There are lots of people who will recommend not monitoring through headphones, but it will work fine for now, and you will need a pair of decent headphones anyways.

Randy
