| Just as the title says: Just for the heck of it - What kind of new and used/vintage synths can one find for $150 or less? |

| Go to ebay and type in "synth" in the search parameters put in "0-150" see what pops up. You'd be surprised what you might find. |

hehe, yeah I know about this and I already scored an Electribe for $115, but I kind of intended this be a challenge for someone to recommend some useable gear that actually sells for around that price or less. This could also serve as a guide for some one who's looking for gear on a tight budget. Perhaps I should have put up some examples, so here are a few that I've regularly spotted on Ebay/Craigslist so far:
E-MU Proteus 1/1000, Roland D10/110, Korg DS-8, Electribe EA-1 Casio CZ 1, CZ 101, CZ 1000, HT700, HT3000 Yamaha FB01, DX27, YS200, PSS680
Any more that I don't know about?
Update: I recently lost a bidding war for a Roland Alpha Juno 1, which went for $147.00 |

Yahama AN200 (one just went for a little over, $170)
Roland MC-09 (if you can find one)
Korg Electribes (1st release)
Korg Kaossilator
Yamaha DX11 (one on ebay for $170 right now)
E-MU Proteus 2

Yeah, those are cool, but I don't have much room to play with money wise.
I'm conflicted between two synths: Yamaha TX81Z and Roland D-110.
The D-110 doesn't sound that boring to me, at least in this clip. It would be at least much more interesting than my Casio HT-700. The TX81Z is also pretty cool but I'm waiting for a reply from a seller, if he can ship it. He sells one for $40. Didn't find any other proteus for $100 or less (incl. shipping/free shipping), and if, then without sound roms so... D-110? TX81Z? D-81Z? TX-110? AHHH MINDFREEZE!
PS: Does the TX81Z have FX? |

I bet you can find a MicroKorg for $150. I got a truly like-new unit for $200. I've spent months tweaking new sounds out of mine and I don't expect to ever exhaust the possibilities. _________________ pronounced "A-Jotz"
