Hi folks,

After some time with Eagle made this PCB of simple dual A(S)R. Idea is taken from old russian Radio 1992 magazine, but addopted to modern modular needs Smile

All diodes n4148.
With trimmers R13, R20 you set max EG voltage (you may vary from near 15V to 0V).
With R1 and R2 you set GATE voltage (now it's +0,9V), for ±12V users calculate your own needs.
Will work with ±12V PSU.

NOT TESTED! but breadboarded and tested with +8V with no op-amps as on original schematics (it uses russian K176 series CMOS with operational voltage max +9V)

What next?! Will test on breadboard soon and make PCB for miself too. Smile

Hi - I'm a little bit confused regarding the function of this circuit.

If I'm following the schematic correctly, it looks like one A/R is triggered on the positive edge of the Gate, and the other is triggered on the falling edge.

Is that right? What's the intention of doing that?

{edit} - Hang on - I just noticed that one A/R is based on the Q of a flip flop, but the other is based on Q/, so effectively both stages are triggered at the same time. I don't understand why they didn't just make both stages work the same way. What am I missing here?

Thanks
Gary

Nothing missed, just it was easy to route PCB this way. By the way, original schematics made this way too. Original copy from Radio magazine will post on my www soon.

By the way, I made v2 for the schematics. There will be inverted output for A(A)R 1.

Ok, copy of original article on Radio magazine posted here: (page no more available)

Simples VCA for square wave ever is 4010 or 4009 (inverted) cmos! Example is here: (page no more available)

By the way, I tryed VCO on breadboard, no luck with v/oct tracking.

Thanks for posting that -

One thing I learned - Google still has a long way to go when translating Lithuanian to English. Reading the article I was alarmed to see that someone 'fell on the keyboard'. I hope they didn't get hurt Laughing

Thanks for the share strazdas. is your pcb layout for one ASR or two?, and if its for two where do the second set of pots connect up? forgive my ignorance but this looks like an ideal project for someone like me and i want to be sure i know what i am building.
cheers

No prob.

Lithuanian is really hard to translate with such engines like Google and so (it'll tike some time do do it properly).
And if there will be interest in translating do questions in "Comment" field and I'll answer in English. I'll not translate my full articles in English due to little time.

The PCB is for two A(S)R! Second ATTACK pot is mounted on PCB (see 'values' file) and RELEASE is connected to CN4 socket.

By the way - in couple of days I'll post V2 of the project, where you will have inverted OUT1.

Keep watching Smile

Ok, this is V2 of dual A(S)R.

I added inverted A(S)R 1. If you like 0 - -10V inversion, remove R18. Otherwise it will work as +10 - 0V EG. (idea is taken from YuSynth ADSR)

Timing caps are C2 & C4 (tantalum are best), but you can change them for your needs or make swich for diferent timing eg. FAST-SLOW-MEDIUM as shown in MFOS dual EG.

Front Panel file is here: http://www.analogas.uzrasai.lt/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/k176 2xA(S)R v2.fpd.

Hope it'll helps.

Mykolas
