This is based on a piece I wrote for recorder (fipple flute) years ago. I always thought it sounded kind of Christmas-y. I gave it the full Aejotz treatment and I just love it to pieces. What fun this was to play.

I hope you all have wonderful and safe holidays.

Thanks for all your encouragement and support.

(hm. I need to make a youtube video for this one.)

I just "replied" to this post to bump it back to the top.

I wrote the main melody in the 90s, I think. It was something I came up with on recorder (fipple flute). I was trying for baroque, not xmas. But when I played it on synth it sounded Christmas-y so I added jingle bells and festive accompaniment.

The jingle bells are courtesy of my Yamaha PSR-520. It's my orchestra. It has hi-fi samples of every kind of instrument. I don't use it much anymore, since I went synth-crazy. But sometimes it comes in so handy. I also use its excellent keyboard to play other instruments via MIDI. Someday I'll experiment with running the 520s sounds through synth filters.

The "drums" on my tune "martians" are from the 520. I was using full automatic band accompaniment but changed all the instruments into drums. And the calliope sound on "baloney" is actually the bottle sound from the 520 in a high register. Shh, it's a secret.

I have responded to my own post, again, to bring it to the top of the list, again, because it's that time of year, again.

We need to assemble a holiday "album."

And once again I replied to my original post from 2011 to "top post" it.

Anyone using Christmas music for any purpose is welcome to use this tune.
Just credit it to AEJOTZ and tell Santa I was a good boy this year.

(a little white lie)

Annually replying to this post, to top-post it, has become a Holiday Season tradition like ugly sweaters, phlegm-inducing holiday drinks or winter solstice depression.

(It could be worse... I could make ANOTHER xmas tune.)

Happy Holidays!

party time!

It's time to throw this tune on the fire once again.

Wow, you're really been keeping up with one, literally for years! Those jingle bells are quite deliberate, I see, hahaha! It sounds a bit "Christmas-y"; makes me think of a holiday marchen of some sort. Either way, it's my first time hearing this one! Smile

It's that time of year again. Time for AEJOTZ to commit the sin of top-posting his Christmas tune.

Health Update: I had the stem cell transplant August 10 for AML leukemia. Recovery has been very slow but steady. About a month ago the doc reduced my immuno-suppressant dosage to try to get my 98% donor marrow to overwhelm my remaining 2% old marrow. No final results yet and I'm stuck on a plateau now where I don't feel awful but I never have much energy. I'm not particularly uncomfortable but it gets really old. Still, no really bad news.

Looking forward to a better 2018.

Howard AEJOTZ Tate

I hope the heavy works on your body will work out well, maybe after some more time.

Your tunes always bring joy to me when I hear them :-)

Happy synthmass!

A very fitting tune this time of year to remember A E J O T Z with! Merry Synthmas to all and thanks to A E J O T Z for all the happy music over the far too few years we got to share musical interests together.
