not a question but I'd like a central place i can change the volumes or mute/solo the 4 slots... there should be extra control pages in the editor for the engine IMO.

Seems a good idea to me.

Maybe some controls can be added then to control incoming MIDI as well especially a variation blocker would be welcome.

I kinda think this kind of thing can be handled on the global pages. That's where I put that stuff. If you take the time, you can make some pretty nice controls for performances.

I think it is a bit unfortunate that you have to have two hands to switch to and from the global page mode. If you are handy with your nose, you can get around that limitation. Depending on the local moral codes, you can use other parts of your body too, I guess. Shocked

Hey, how's that for "Swedish thinking"? Laughing

When I make auto varying patches by using CC 70 I sometimes need the variations to stop to work on an individual variation. For that I now have to detach wires, I'd rather have some buttons for that. I know I can route this in but it's all costing DSP and that is a scarce resource ...

I hope you like to be scared then :-)

I'm affraid swedish thinking goes along such lines indeed :(

The parameter pages are not the first thing to think on for an engine user ... I can't get used to using 'm, there's not much of a reward in it, maybe that's the problem ...

Might it be worth compiling a list of engine specific control problems/limitations? Even with a laptop onstage I think the engine may be too difficult to control for an improviser like me. They made it and sold it without knbobs or display, fair enough, it meant I could afford it, but I think the software is not quite complete... maybe us engine users should see if we can present a united face to Clavia, our needs may be slightly different from what they expected?

I'm not wingeing: the potential is amazing, I can play a complex ensemble sequence, a complex noodle, a keyboard controlled noodle from a buchla lightning and play a solo part over the top on a windcontroller - all on the same synth! But frankly, even if I accept the need for a laptop onstage, the interface doesn't seem quite up to it... (for me dragging an enormous behringer controller to the gig is not the solution)

Can this not be done using some midi modules and any of the switches?
I don't know CPU load by heat yet, but I would expect this handfull of modules would be lightweight...
