First
A very big THANKS to all who make this forum possible, keep it working and all the effort required!

I am just requesting a bit of feedback on yesterday's set we did.

Last few years we did a few Blues songs. I sprinkle in some synths and a few modern sounds into the more traditional style that Blues is. I have seen some comments here and there that perhaps this style on the event is not expected. (I am sure I am not giving this a good enough question)
What is the over all thought on this?

Personal wise, I found it very difficult yesterday to even do the gig after learning of Richard Lainhart passing. Sort of just took all the energy out of me.

Noting that, I was getting confused a lot while trying to keep track of the chat. Which is why I am asking about the set now. I even thought a few times we got disconnected from some of the chat comments. Mostly likely me being thrown off early on with the sad news.

Just some thoughts on what is expect or not. I hope I am not offending anyone in asking or even any of my other comments there. Not intended at all in that way, just fyi to me from those here.

Dale

I liked your set very much Dale, not the usual stuff here, but that is only good.

It was strange to hear about Mel and Richard's death during the event, a mix up of feelings. It was good see people dedicate their sets to them.

I actually liked the whole set, if anything I liked the blues at the beginning the least of the set. The originals were much more interesting to listen to.

I know how you felt about playing too, I heard the news just as I was starting my set.

Hi Dale!

I only caught portions of your set, but enough to comment I think. I definitely found the bluesy flavor unexpected, but not unwelcome. I'd agree with Paul that I maybe enjoyed the first piece a bit less, but that was more due to it seemy more 'jammy' and less developed, I guess. I quite enjoyed the later material that incorporated the blues elements.

And definitely agree re: the somber mood, due to the news of the day. Was nice to be able to spend time in the (virtual) company of friends. Our own little electro-Irish-wake almost.

Cheers,
adam / onewayness
